SUMMARY of the SUNILA project realization:
Ongoing project around Sunila area and the industrial colony
designed by Alvar Aalto in the 1930s that today is in a situation
of increasing marginalization.
Conceived as a diptych of two 16mm films, the project
addresses the historical and ideological divide that separates
the former rise of Sunila and the present moment. After an
unsuccessful attempt to revisit the past – and possible futures
cancelled with it – the project outlines a reflection on the
collapse of the 'modern project', our experience of historical
time and how the film(f)ic(tion) device is part of it.
